Meet Sammy, an 8-month, 4.5-lb, Toy Poodle whose person had to give him up because it became impossible to take care of him.

Before filling in an Application Form, please understand the requirements considered necessary to adopt Sammy.

An adult family or one with children over 12.  He is great with kids but his size means that he is not meant for a family with young ones.  Or, if you are planning to start a family in the near future, Sammy is not the dog for you.

Sammy loves the sound of his own voice and rest assured he will alert you to any trespassers.  If you live in an apartment/condo, Sammy is not your dog.

Sammy is in need of a family that will be around and capable of caring for him for the next 15 to 18 years (Poodles, especially small ones, are blessed with longevity).  If you are getting ready to sell the house and move to a condo or there is a possibility that you won’t be mobile or able to care for him for his entire life because of age-related issues – then Sammy is not your dog.  

Sammy needs to use his legs – every day, rain or shine.  He does not need to be carried or be walked around in a stroller – not at this point in his life.  If you are looking for arm candy, Sammy is not your dog.  

At 8 months old and with the recent changes in his life, Sammy will need a refresher in toilet training.  All potential adopters must be willing to do some level of toilet training.  If you aren’t, then Sammy is not your dog.  

It is important that puppies get socialization and training sprinkled throughout the day.  If you are gone from you home for more than a few hours, then Sammy is not your dog.

Sammy is a cuddly, affectionate, ball of fur who is ready to take the next step to his happily ever after.  If you meet the requirements, then by all means fill in the Application Form.
