Answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Where can I find information on the Adoption fee for dogs?

The Animatch Adoption fee is $525.00 for puppies under 6 months.  For dogs over 6 months, the fee is $500.00 per dog, male or female. For senior dogs (8+ years), the fee is $400.00 per dog. Please note that our price includes a unique 15 day trial period during which the adoption fee (minus $50.00 administration fee) is refundable. This includes the cost of the dog, spaying or neutering (if required), vaccinations, blood test for heart worm and Lyme disease, flea prevention, and de-worming and micro chip.

Although we generally do pediatric sterilizations before a puppy leaves the center, please note that there is also a $100.00 refundable spay/neuter deposit if adopting a puppy that has not been sterilized. Money is refunded after the surgery is performed.

We invite you to check out the comparison chart on our donations page for more info.

What is the Adoption process?

Step 1) Fill out our Adoption Form. Yes, we ask many questions! It is through your answers that we are best able to determine if a particular dog is a good match for you and your family.

Step 2) If more information is required, a volunteer from our Placement Department will contact you, to review your answers, fill in any blanks, and provide you with more details on the dogs you are interested in. At this point you will be advised if the match is a good one or not.

Step 3) If the match you have selected is appropriate, you will be asked to come to our center, by appointment, to meet the dog, one on one. If you wish to adopt the dog, you will be asked to sign an Adoption Contract, and also to pay an Adoption Fee. This fee only partially covers the cost of food, housing, spaying or neutering, veterinary care, deworming,  vaccinations and micro chip that your new pet has received while at Animatch.

Step 4) If the animal you have chosen is determined to not be an appropriate match, you may go on our Waiting List, so that you will be considered for another dog that we have for adoption in the future. Your name will automatically be kept on file for two months, and you will have priority over those not yet on the Waiting List.  We offer this service to discourage "spur of the moment" adoptions based solely on looks or breed.

A Few Things to Note

Please understand that an immediate match/adoption will not always be possible.

It is DEVASTATING-for the animals, for our volunteers, AND for you, when an adoption doesn't work out, and the animal must come back to us.

For this reason, we ask for your patience and understanding of our procedure.

A positive adoption experience can change the world for both you and an animal in need!
