About

Snowy

Snowy here and some of you long-time Animatch followers might remember me.  During my first drive through, I arrived with a badly injured leg which had to be amputated.  I was fitted with a prosthetic and became very accustomed to getting around with it.  Dogs don’t struggle with body image issues so physical adjustment came easily.  Hey, what better conversation piece!

Why, you ask, am I back at Animatch and part of this gorgeous bunch of adoptees?  My family loved me – they truly did.  It is my prey drive that they found challenging.  I ought to be the only pet and if you are a dog park kind of person, I’m not right for you.  I should always be on leash unless I am in your backyard. It's the responsible thing to do.  In fact, when I go for walks I am very comfortable wearing a muzzle as an added protection in case an off-leash dog comes into my "bubble".  You won’t miss having another canine because I have enough love, personality, and playfulness to more than make up for being your one and only.

Northern Dogs are a resilient bunch and never hold a grudge.  I’m ready, willing, and able to love a new family just as I treasured my last.  Don’t waste too much emotional energy on the fact that I am a tri-pawed. I choose to go with the flow and keep my hopes up and my tail wagging eager to become someone’s new dog.   I get around just fine on my “bionic” limb.

My ideal family would be an outdoorsy one who would enjoy including me in many of their activities.  I have never lived with children but older, respectful kids over 8 would be great.  Just because I lost a leg does not mean I want the life of a couch potato.  I so appreciate long walks, nature hikes, and car rides.  At times I am bothered by allergies but when I take my meds I get some relief.

In the meantime, I will go back to focusing hard on the new life ahead of me and waiting for that special someone to adopt me.  Please fill in the on-line application if you would like to share your life with me.
