About

Ozzy

Update - January 11: Enough is enough – I don’t want to break any records here for the dog who has stayed the longest.  It’s been over a year and I’m ready to roll.  I have heart-stopping good looks accented by the softest ears – so that’s not the problem.  Put a leash on me and I’ll walk you all over the neighbourhood.  People will be amazed at how well trained I am.

Yes, I may have a few quirks but I won’t hold your idiosyncrasies against you!  Please take a look at what the wonderful people at FIC have written about me (https://www.facebook.com/adoptionsfic) – I’m going to break some hearts when I leave here.

Would you consider adopting me?  I may just be your absolute best match.  Don’t wait another day to apply if you have what it takes to give me my forever home.  You haven’t lived until you’ve had my nose resting peacefully on your lap at the end of a busy day.

Update - August 15: Ozzy has been at FIC for several months now. Her buddies Shandy, Paco, and Sansa have all found their forever homes -- she still waits. Shandy is keeping us updated on how she is progressing. She still needs a home.

Looking for a dog that has a joie de vivre, is full of energy, displays a hint of clumsiness and possesses a superb operatic voice (for some special occasions).  That would be me, Ozzy!!
I am a 1-year-old Nordic mix and I am more than ready for my family!  I came to *FIC from the Animatch Centre when I was 8 months old and I have worked very hard at FIC since my arrival.
What do I love the most in the world?  PLAY and lots of it.  I play like a puppy so it seems; the wonderful people here old and find me adorable with my big paws going all over the place.   I'm a pro when it comes to the zoomies and absolutely love all toys, but especially the rubber ones that SQUEEEEK!!!!
I walk very well on a leash and I have mastered my basic obedience -- easy when you're greedy!  I love learning new tricks and working at whatever else FIC has in store to occupy me.
Considering my personality, my age and my breed, my family will have to meet my needs for expending my energy, both physically and mentally. I am the perfect candidate for canicross, mountain hikes and I could even follow you on camping-type adventures!
I can live with children aged 12 and over but cannot live with other dogs or cats (resource guarding). I'm the affectionate type and just want to make you laugh with my funny ways and my big paws.
Are you the family for me?

Ozzy here and I was adopted in the summer of 2021 as a puppy and then returned last December.  I admit I was not the easiest puppy and it was obvious to the good folks at Animatch that I would need some rehabilitation if I was to be adopted again.  They knew just the people to call!  Yup, the good people at FIC (Ecole de Formation des Intervenants Canins du Quebec) and they have been working with me for months.  Virginie Forest and her group of students have helped me on the route to being a good canine citizen.  I now have unanimous approval that I am ready for my forever home.

I’m a high energy adolescent who will require daily walks and play sessions – every day in all kinds of weather.  If you would like to try your hand at agility, canicross, or other dog sport; no doubt I would be a willing partner.  I’d love nothing more than to be adopted by an experienced family who wants to make a difference in a young dog’s life.

Because I do have an issue with resource guarding, I would thrive as your one and only dog.  I am friendly and eager to please, and I should definitely continue practicing everything that I have learned during my stay at FIC.  Training is a daily thing – and let’s make it fun.  Fill up your pockets with tasty liver treats and let’s get started! Then one day you can brag about me being the epitome of what you have always wanted in a dog.  Except until that day, we need to work together.

I am so grateful that FIC took me under their wing and they have been my stability over the past several months.  In fact, they have been the only “family” that I have known for quite some time.  Because of them, I realize that I have the basics to be a good canine citizen.  I will need lots of love but even more important is commitment, patience, and determination.  I’m counting on you.

If you are a calm and experienced dog lover who never runs from a challenge, I’m ready to start whenever you are.  Please fill in the Application Form and let’s get started.
