The name is Sierra and before you all head for the puppies or young dogs, hold on just a minute and read on.  Puppies have to be the cutest little creatures on the face of the earth; except, adopting an older dog warms your heart the way nothing else can.  I arrived with Griffin (adopted) since my family were going through a break-up and had to move.

Because I was down in the dumps on arrival, Animatch called on one of their awesome Foster Moms to help me get through this.  She says that there is a human out there who is going to appreciate this pint-size gal with the sweet personality – me!   My Foster Mom says that I am delightful.  We senior dogs seem to have a sixth-sense and know when we've been given a second chance at happiness and appreciate every minute.

Like many dogs that are given up, my health was not always a priority.  I had periodontal disease and recently had my teeth cleaned and many extractions.  I feel so much better!  

In addition, I have been diagnosed with a heart murmur and a collapsed trachea which causes me to cough a few times a day.  I am on medication and the person who adopts me would need to continue with this – cost $65-70/month. Hey, give up your daily Latte or Macchiato at Tim’s and you will have that covered.

Although I will need exercise to help me shed a pound or two, my walks can be short and leisurely.  Of course, when I look at you with my soft eyes and sad face, you can give me a belly rub instead of a cookie.

I am 8 years old and my Foster Mom told me, “Sierra, don’t waste another day of your life stewing about your past.”   So, I’m ready to take on the world one paw at a time.  Fill in the Application Form if you would like to adopt me.
