About

Saint Jack

Update - August 8: Well, I bet you are surprised to see me back on the Adoptees List. I was so happy to get sprung but it just wasn't to be. No fault of mine but the resident dog did not take kindly to my bouncy adolescent ways. Animatch has promised that next time will be the real deal. Hope I don't wait too long.

Update -- July 10: Hey folks, I have ditched the cone and the other contraption. Now you can see me in all my glory. I am still here and still waiting for my home. Read all about me and if you feel you are the perfect family to offer my happily ever-after, then fill in the Application Form. I'm here and ready to roll.

If my friends could see me now!  What does a guy have to do to lose this darn cone of shame and this weird getup.  Yup, the Dog Doc made sure that there would never be any little homeless Saints running around because of me.  To guarantee that I heal properly, I have to walk around like this for a while.

I was given up by my human because they simply could no longer care for me.  Things happen in people’s lives and thank goodness there are places like Animatch that help out.   My name is Saint Jack and I am a one-year-old, 130-lb, adolescent with very little training.  It is so important when people get giant breeds to start the training young; much easier to prevent a 20-lb pup from jumping than it is a 130-pounder.  I am quite mouthy and tend to use your arms to express my emotions.  You get the picture – there is some work to do for me to evolve into a good canine citizen.

Walks are interesting – let’s just say that I’m finding out that the whole point is not to drag the human along the road.  A gentle leader or halti would be recommended; plus, some much needed training.  Because of my adolescent size and strength, an adult family or one where children are older would best suit me.  I am good with other dogs but tend to overwhelm them.  You would probably have your hands full with just me.

Be aware that Saint Bernards are mega-droolers, so if slobbery kisses and wet floors are not your thing, I won’t be either.  My breed does shed and we shed a lot – shaving is NOT an option.

If you have the experience and desire to turn me into a gentle giant, I’m ready to go (minus the cone and fancy onesie).  Fill in the Application Form and ask for Saint Jack.
