Meet Brandi, a 4.5-year-old Chocolate Lab who just exudes so much love and joy!  She will turn down any potential adopter who is not perfect for her – meaning committed to her care for the rest of her life.  She relishes lounging in the sun and naps by the fireside.  This people-oriented dog who soaks up human attention, will make a wonderful loyal companion.  Any Chocolate Lab lovers out there?

Brandi came to Animatch from Chisisabi.  Many dogs from the region are outdoor dogs and so was Brandi; however, her family felt that she belonged indoors (she does!). She is a real sweetheart …. she may just be the dog you are looking for!  

Brandi has never met a stranger; true to her breed, humans are her first true love.  She gets along with other dogs but would be equally happy as your one and only.  Give her the time to settle in and then enroll her in obedience training – you will both have some work to do.   It is quite a chore to walk a strong dog who believes that the harder she pulls the faster she will reach her destination.  For that reason, you must learn how to handle her to make your regular outings pleasant. Plus, she needs daily walks to use her muscles in order to remain strong and healthy.  

Brandi will require medication (phenylpropanolamine – not expensive) for the rest of her life.  Without it she experiences some incontinence when she is sleeping or relaxed.  The medication is preventing this.
