My name is Zeus and I am a dashing Malamute mix – great dog, hips less than perfect!  I spent most of my young life tied up without exercise, so they are not the strongest.  Some day Animatch hopes to not have to write these stories (they are quite depressing).  That day is not today.  I’m in the right place though because apparently, finding forever homes for dogs like me is what Animatch does best.  

Back to my hips!  The Vet says that a routine of daily exercise will strengthen my muscles and support my hips.  In the long term, the best course of action to keep me pain free is cartrophen injections which are not super expensive.  Daily walks to strengthen my muscles would be helpful and I’d love a yard where I can roll in the grass and sniff to my heart’s content.  There is no reason that I can’t live a long and happy life with a little bit of extra attention.  Hips are overrated anyways especially for a guy like me who has so many other redeeming qualities, such as giving my paw for a treat!  

I know that opening your heart to the possibility of a lasting friendship with me can be a mite scary.  Believe me, what you see is what you get and I’m the real deal.  I have never met a stranger and I will greet you by putting my front paws on your shoulders and giving you a wet slobbery kiss.  Not to worry, the good folks here are working on showing me a more acceptable greeting.  No doubt, the best way to help me become a good canine citizen would be through obedience training.  I am very food motivated my progress will be quick.  

I get along with other dogs and could share my space with another well-matched canine. Because of my size, sturdy kids who know how to treat a dog would enjoy my affection.  I’ve been around the block more than once and I know I am so ready to settle down – commitment is what I am looking for.  I am looking for a human who is kind, patient, and generous – no strings attached.  Please fill in the Application Form and give me a chance to become your devoted companion.
