Thea arrived from Armenia several weeks ago. Originally, Animatch saw a photo of a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel with very little history except that she was tied up and treated harshly most of her life. Dogs all over the world suffer harsh treatment, including Canada; however, at least we have some type of protective services for pets.
The happy Cocker girl that was in the photo was not the dog sitting in front of us at Animatch. Thea was weak, no muscle strength, stumbling, and lethargic. She also lacked coordination and had no interest in her surroundings. She probably felt like hell. Animatch monitored her closely; then hoped and prayed that her condition would improve.
Fast forward to a few weeks later, the happy Cocker girl has returned. Thea is a tail-wagging, joyful dog who needs a home that will accept her as she is. She does have some slight neurological issues. It is possible that her hearing has been affected; although when she sees a human smile at her the tail goes a mile a minute. She may stumble now and then, but she picks herself up and looks for her human to praise her.
Thea gets along with other dogs and another well-balanced dog may help in her integration to family life. Rest assured, her one true love will always be the smiling human who embraces and accepts her for who she is. She may not win any ribbons for agility, but she is an all-around champ at living through some hard knocks and coming out a Survivor.
If you are sure that you can offer Thea the home that she so deserves, please complete the on-line Application Form.
