Roots, a magnificent Nordic mix, made the journey from Whapmagoostui to Animatch in serious discomfort. Roots had been hit by a vehicle and needed immediate surgery. Sadly, Whapmagoostui is not equipped for medical emergencies. Dr. Plasse, Lasalle Veterinary Hospital, Vet and Superman to many of our dogs in need of “repair”, performed the surgery so that Roots could be pain free. Roots will require another surgery to remove the pins that are presently holding the broken bone together until it has fused and healed.
While he is recuperating, Roots longs for the day when his human will take him home and fill his life with love, cuddles, and belly rubs. He has been on cage rest for a few weeks but he is now ready to start moving around. Roots is still favoring his hind leg but eventually he should make a good recovery. He may not be jumping over fences any time soon but daily walks around the neighbourhood will be a welcome pastime. Roots may have had a very sketchy past but Animatch has promised him a bright future. He shows his appreciation with his constant wagging tail.
At just 7 months old and with virtually no training, he is going to need loads of patience, time, consistency and understanding. He is more than ready to begin obedience training and in no time has the potential of being a good canine citizen. Roots loves the sound of his own voice and practices his barking quite frequently, so no apartment or condos. As adorable as he might be, you must be ready to commit to him for the next 12 to 15 years.
Roots is ready to devote himself heart and soul to his new family; he promises to bring a lot of love and entertainment in return for a forever home. Would that home be yours? Fill in the Application Form if you would like to adopt Roots.
