Patience, understanding, compassion, calmness, empathy and perseverance – you will need all of these if you adopt Plume or any of the dogs who recently arrived with her at Animatch. They are counting on you for assistance in overcoming their previous experiences. It takes a special person to do this – it’s not about you, it’s about the dog! If you are ready to take on the challenge, it will be life changing for you and more importantly Plume.
Plume was no doubt kept in unsanitary conditions, fed poor quality food, denied regular veterinary care, and, most important, lacked positive interaction with humans. One significant factor for all potential adopters to consider is that there is no time limit for progress – days, weeks, months – however long it takes. Nothing good in life comes without some effort.
Plume is a brave little dog who is counting on the person who adopts for help in overcoming her past. She has already come a long way; she is a work in progress. No two dogs from the same situation recover the same way, each dog’s path to healing is unique. Another friendly well-adjusted dog in the family would benefit Plume. She may learn as much from the family dog as she does from her humans.
Almost all dogs who have lived in these conditions have “accidents” in the home. To Plume, peeing and pooping in the house is not an accident; in fact, to dogs from her background, this is perfectly normal behavior. Plume was probably neither taught nor expected to eliminate outside or on a pee-pad. She went wherever she wanted to (maybe her cage) and whenever she wanted to. Time and patience are all we can suggest.
Will you walk with Plume hand and paw and give her the life that she deserves? She needs a commitment to love and care for her through thick and thin. If you think that you could be the perfect family for Plume, please fill in the Application Form.
Please note that due the volume of applications, we are unable to respond to all applicants and ONLY those being considered will be contacted. We thank you for your understanding. The adoption application link is posted below and the adoption process is outlined on the website. Animatch asks that you read the Adoptee’s bio in its entirety before applying to ensure you meet the requirements for the dog.
