Update: Sadly, Moxie is again in search of a home. Her time with her family was short due to the death of one of her guardians. For the few weeks that she was in the home, she felt what it was like to be loved and Animatch promises to find her another home who will be totally devoted to her. Please give this a girl the happily ever after that she so deserves.

Are you ready to give a lot of your time and provide endless love to a dog who has not experienced much joy in her life?  Well, here is one dog who needs you.  Meet Moxie, a 6-year-old, Beagle-x.  She has spent her life living outdoors, tied to a chain, with no human interaction.  In fact, she has not experienced what being someone’s beloved dog is all about.  

Adopting a dog like Moxie is a huge commitment, and not one that everyone can, or should, make.  It takes more than just love but an enormous amount of perseverance, training, time and most importantly acceptance.  If you are looking for an immediate connection with a dog, Moxie might not be the dog for you.  Her reaction to you could perhaps be different from a typical dog -- no sweet doggy kisses, no wagging tail.  However, if you are willing to take pleasure in the small victories and those tender moments of interaction when you least expect it, perhaps you are the right person for Moxie.

Despite a past of neglect and indifference from her humans, with a family who accepts her – quirks and all -- she will be able to enjoy a long and happy life.  At this point in time, this Beagle girl relates better to other dogs than she does to humans and we feel the perfect environment for her would be one with another well-balanced dog in the home.  After all, dogs are not the ones who let her down.

Her ideal family would be an experienced one – one that is overflowing with patience, consistency and a healthy dose of realism.  And then there’s housetraining; her new family must be prepared to start from square one if need be.
