Let’s cut right to it -- I’m the coolest pup at the Centre right now.  Big, strong, impressive – I’ll follow you on a hike, go for a boat ride, or just chase those pesky squirrels out of the yard.   I don’t like to brag; I just can’t deny that I am one awesome guy.

My name is Hibou.  Mom (Chouette) and I arrived at the Animatch Centre because we were lost and not claimed.  Keep your thoughts on that to yourself.  I’m on the lookout for an experienced family who accept that I have not had any direction in my life.  I really don’t know what is expected of me.  I would shine as your one and only dog; if you do have a dog, the dog must be large.  

I adore any attention I can get from humans, including the pint-size ones as long as they are old enough and sturdy enough for a big dude like me.  I do have a prey drive so if you have cats – forget about adopting me.  I am an American Bulldog mix; a breed known to be calm and self-possessed …. once they are adults!  I am only 8-9 months old so that is not how you would describe me right now.   I am presently best referred to as a bull in a china shop – a dog full of adolescent vim and vigour.  

I have the potential of becoming a gentle giant but I can’t be left to my own devices.  For a dog that will tip the scales in adulthood at over 100 lbs. (most of that pure muscle), training is absolutely essential.  Remember, a well-trained dog keeps everyone happy.  Dog training has evolved so much over the years; you really need to use modern day methods.    

I’m all set and ready to go.  When the good doc performed my surgery (castration), she also did a surgical procedure for my “cherry eye”.  Not a huge deal and now that it is fixed, it isn’t something that will ever bother me again.

I dream of a life as a family dog – a place where I will eat yummy food, sleep on a comfy bed, and play a lot.  I am definitely searching for the family that understands that a dog is forever – that my love is forever.  If you feel that you are that home, please fill in the Application Form so that you can have the chance to meet this stunning fellow with the big friendly face and enthusiastic wagging tail.  Don’t forget, my name is Hibou.
