Brina is her name and she and Binto (her pup) are recent arrivals from Waswanipi – too many dogs, not enough homes.  They are ready to part ways; it’s time for Brina to focus on the world around her rather than Binto.  Animatch is committed to finding them both a good home.

You may have noticed that these two are not the only dogs on the adoption block.  Many rescues and shelters across the country are at capacity and must refuse dogs.  Inflation puts cost pressures on families with dogs and we are seeing more being given up because their families have not factored in the cost of a medical emergency – or even basic care (i.e. teeth cleaning, vaccinations, etc.)  

Times are tough for rescues, especially for dogs of no specific breed.  There is very little interest in these amazing animals and yet they still keep coming.  At some point, there is simply no room at the inn!  Every one associated with rescue knows that the only answer is sterilization and for the public to stop buying from backyard breeders and puppy mills.  

Puppies continue to be born out of neglect, greed, or ignorance.  Those who do not spay or neuter their dogs continue to fill up rescues and shelters with unwanted puppies.  At least, no Animatch dogs will ever be part of the problem.  Spaying or neutering is the best thing for your dog or cat.  Ask any rescue!  

Brina has the finest qualities of many breeds all rolled into one.  Whoever adopts her should register for obedience training as she needs to buff up on her basics.  You couldn’t ask for a sweeter personality in a dog, all she needs is what all dogs deserve …. commitment (that word again)!  Someone who promises to teach her all about the real world.
