About

Bonie

Bonie here and I must admit that I am still adjusting to this overwhelming environment – you can probably tell by my worried expression that it is all a bit daunting!  I was a street dog in the Dominican Republic and made the long trip with a few of my canine pals. Knowing that I needed some guidance and a safe place to decompress, an experienced Foster Mom agreed to help me out so that I have a chance at being the best dog I can be.

I am on the lookout for a family who will continue to help me in overcoming my fears so that I can live life to the fullest.  My foster Mom notices that I have changed immensely in the short time I have been with her.  She believes that another well balanced dog in the home would make me feel comfortable.   She says that every day I am gaining confidence and my sweet personality is shining through.  I long to have a home where I belong with people I can love – it’s the Canadian dog’s dream, isn’t it?

In the meantime, my Foster Mom is amazed at the quirky things I do – I like to hide my treats, I have fun stealing her socks and slippers, and I like to check out all the couches and dog beds before I chose the one I want.  Best of all, I know what brings sheer joy to my Foster Mom – doing “my business” outside.  I still need some work on that.  Human are very odd creatures!

I hear that walks around a neighbourhood, along with a whole lot of sniffing, can be so much fun.  I look forward to the day that I am ready for that.  A patient human who will let me do things in my own time would be right up my alley.

I can get spooked at sudden movements or weird noises but that is why I want a family who will help me overcome my fears.  If you have a yard, it would be safer if it was completely fenced.  I was so lucky to be chosen to make the trip to Canada; but now I need one more lucky break and that would be to find a family to adopt me.  What do you say?  Do I sound like the dog for you?  Please fill in the Application Form and ask for Bonie.

Note: Animatch is looking for a home with another well-socialized and well-balanced dog to help him to progress. In addition, a completely fenced yard is a must -- if he takes off, he will not come back.
