Why does Animatch take dogs from other countries? The level of enthusiasm among people might vary but, in the end, we have taken one dog from a life of uncertainty -- and in some cases suffering -- and given him the chance at a stable and loving home. And, that is a good thing.
My name is Benji and I have been through some tough times in my three years on this earth. Thanks to an amazing rescue person in China, I am safe and sound at Animatch. My mother and her two pups were taken in by this person; Mom and my sister found homes. It took a longer for me and then my rescuer had to make a trip to Canada and was stuck here for nine months during the pandemic. While she was in Canada, we were separated and by the time she got me back I was in bad shape. After nursing me back to health, she had to make another trip to Canada and this time she brought me. Finding a home in China was not an option for me. Most major cities have restrictions – dogs measuring more than 35 cm (14 inches) are banned.
I have experienced a lot of turmoil in my life but I’m ready to look for the family that will put the wag back in my tail. That’s really all I’ve ever wanted. I am uneasy at first about being overly handled, so I would ask that you take things slow. I am quite sensitive and appreciate a gentle introduction and very relaxed atmosphere when meeting new people. With consistency and positive reinforcement, I will be on my way to learning to trust again in no time. An adult home would best suit me; grabby hands and the boisterous energy of children would be too much for me.
I am quiet and reserved but if you add a friendly dog to the mix, my playful side might shine through. I will eventually come to adore taking long walks and will be more than happy to spend hours walking with you. You probably won’t find a companion that is as sweet, sensitive, and kind as I. I promise to listen to you with my soft caring eyes and be there for you when you need comfort. Today might be your lucky day – the day you first laid eyes on your new companion and family member. So, fill in the Adoption Form and let’s see what happens.
Please note that due the volume of applications, we are unable to respond to all applicants and ONLY those being considered will be contacted. We thank you for your understanding. The adoption application link is posted below and the adoption process is outlined on the website. Animatch asks that you read the Adoptee’s bio in its entirety before applying to ensure you meet the requirements for the dog.
