Update July 18: Belka here and can you tell me why oh why I am still around. In fact, I have not received any applications. Do you know how that makes a dog feel? Is it my size, my fur, my ears, my nose? Why? Pups come and go through the revolving door. Me, I wait. So, this Belka is not going to feel sorry for herself. A wonderful Volunteer took me on a “weekend retreat” to his home. If that is what having a true home is like, I can’t wait for my chance.
One important detail my temporary Foster Dad noticed is that I crave human affection. I absolutely adore humans. He reinforced that jumping on him for his attention does not work; I need to keep all fours planted on the ground. I learn quickly, especially with a treat, so that won’t be an issue for long. I realized that going for walks is so much fun – exercise for my body and my nose! I would love if my new family had a nice fenced yard where I can stretch, relax, and roll! I have a high prey drive and will keep your yard free of squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits. You will like that I am not super-high energy, we can have our regular exercise routine and then I’ll curl up while you read your book. Of course, if you want to bring out the best in me, obedience training would go a long way in boosting my confidence.
In a nutshell, all I need is a forever home with people who will love me to the moon and back – something I have NEVER experienced. Therefore, please consider adopting me. You will have no regrets.
UPDATE - MAY 19: Belka here and just want to let you know that finding a home for both Stelko and I has not been successful. For that reason, we will be saying goodbye to each other. Not to worry, we will be just fine. I do believe he will miss me bossing him around.
My name is Belka. My fondest wish is that Stelko and I are lucky enough to find a home together. Animatch hopes that they can make our dream come true. If it is impossible, then we will part ways. There is very little history on us because we have spent the past year at a rescue in Armenia and before that we were homeless.
I’m a spirited, sensitive, sweet and very responsive dog and in my books that makes me best friend material. I get along with other dogs with proper introduction although Stelko and I would thrive in a home where we were just the two of us.
Now dogs from other countries that have been homeless or lived on the street don’t arrive with obedience training certificates. Animatch supplies the dog – the rest is up to you. I really do need to keep all fours firmly planted on the ground and I also need to understand that going for a walk is not a drag race. Obedience training would be highly recommended.
Stelko and I have never had anyone to love us, cuddle us, teach us that humans can be caring and affectionate. The great thing is that we now have plenty of time to learn. We just need a very patient and committed family to give me a home.
If you feel that you can offer both or either one of us the home that we long for, please fill in the Application Form.
Please note that due the volume of applications, we are unable to respond to all applicants and ONLY those being considered will be contacted. We thank you for your understanding. The adoption application link is posted below and the adoption process is outlined on the website. Animatch asks that you read the Adoptee’s bio in its entirety before applying to ensure you meet the requirements for the dog.
