Beaumont here and I am a proud Dogue de Bordeaux – you will love when my massive head rests on your lap. Despite my power and strength, I am a sweet and sensitive soul who is ready to put my trust in you. Of course, someone familiar with my breed would be ideal.
To stay fit, I will require moderate exercise each and every day; I am surprisingly athletic and agile so a nicely fenced play area would be wonderful. More than anything I need continued socialization and interaction with humans and so far, I have not met one that I dislike. With a dog of my size, the best idea is to train me to be a good canine citizen – you know one that puts to rest all the misconceptions about my breed and my size. I don’t need a heavy-handed approach; I will do anything for your approval and a tasty liver treat!
I am a pro at snuffling, grunting and snoring – sounds that you must be prepared to find endearing. Dogues are slobberers especially after eating or drinking – no doubt about it. When I shake my head, stand back and have a towel at the ready.
Despite this sad face, I embrace every moment with joy and exuberance. I am on the lookout for a human who feels the same. If you know what it takes to share your life with a big – very big – dog, then by all means fill in the Application Form. I would love to meet you.
Please note that due the volume of applications, we are unable to respond to all applicants and ONLY those being considered will be contacted. We thank you for your understanding.
