Amarok, which means giant wolf, is an imposing and formidable boy. It is difficult for our Northern dogs to be free to roam one day and be restricted the next but Amarok is doing his best to adapt. Despite his desire to be free, Amarok absolutely adores human companionship.
Whereas most dogs work for food rewards, this fellow turns to mush if given ear scratches and cuddles. When outside he will always be right by your side asking for kisses and belly rubs. Obedience training would be fun for Amarok and his human as he so wants to please.
Animatch expects that whoever adopts Amarok will be totally committed to providing him with a lifestyle that meets his needs – human presence a good part of the day, a property that is safe and secure, a love of the outdoors (especially in winter). Amarok would thrive as your one and only dog. He tends to not want to share his human’s attention – what he has lacked for so long is what is most precious to him now. Insofar as cats are concerned, a feline free home is a must.
Amarok loves the sound of his own voice, so no apartments/condos for this guy. In fact, with winter on its way he would love to have his very own yard to bask in the sun on a snowbank. If you have a country home on a lake, Amarok loves the water.
Amarok is an amazing dog and he is ready to reward his human with tail wags and huge slobbery kisses to show his affection. If you feel that you are ready to commit to Amarok for the next 10 to 15 years, please fill in an Application Form.
Please note that due the volume of applications, we are unable to respond to all applicants and ONLY those being considered will be contacted. We thank you for your understanding. The adoption application link is posted below and the adoption process is outlined on the website. Animatch asks that you read the Adoptee’s bio in its entirety before applying to ensure you meet the requirements for the dog.
