Every year, approximately two million dogs are raised in cages and slaughtered for their meat. Some dogs in Korea have a luxurious lifestyle while others exist in conditions beyond most people’s imagination. Each dog has a unique history, experience and personality. As with any dog, they will need some time to adjust to their new home with you. We ask that you provide our Korean dogs with love and patience – we know that, in time, they will return the favor many times over.
Thanks to HSI International, Alannah has found her way to Animatch and is destined for an amazing future. At some point in her life, she was used as a breeding dog. Somehow, she ended up in a meat market. Compassion knows no borders and once you interact with this affectionate girl, you know that she deserves a better life.
Although Alannah is shy and reserved when you first meet her, she is not overly traumatized. She is gentle and engaging with her other canine travel mates. She loves her warm soft bed and is ready to open her heart to a committed human. Her playful side is emerging day by day and she is getting the hang of these outings that humans call a “walk on leash”. After she has settled in to her new home, obedience training is highly recommended; the socialization and training will boost her confidence.
