Adoption Fee Increase effective May 1, 2021

Every dollar that Animatch brings in through adoption fees goes back into the day-to-day costs of providing shelter to our dogs and veterinary fees (sterilization, vaccinations, microchip, etc.).  We do not receive any government funding but the continued support and donations from our devoted followers.

Although Animatch took in fewer dogs in 2020, we have welcomed many dogs and puppies from Northern communities this year.  Many of these dogs arrived with special medical issues that required immediate (and expensive) attention.  While we are not in search of dogs with serious medical issues or broken limbs, once they arrive, Animatch is totally committed to them.

When the borders reopen and airlines are once again transporting dogs in need of homes, we expect that there will be another influx of dogs.  Animatch also expects that owner surrenders may increase as “pandemic puppies” reach adolescence and adulthood and start displaying behaviour issues.  No doubt, there will be a number of dogs who will require special care.

For this reason, we feel we must increase the Adoption Fees.  The fee will increase by $75.00 in each category.

Effective May 1, 2021, the following fees will be in effect:

Puppy (6 months or younger) ……….…$525

Adult (under 8) ………………………………. $500

Senior ……………………………………………. $400

All dogs have undergone a Vet exam, are sterilized and up-to-date on vaccinations, have had a blood test for heartworm and Lyme disease, are de-wormed, and have been microchipped.  There is a $50.00 administration fee for a dog or puppy being returned during or after the trial period.
