A Toy Poodle Female named Violet

Violet is presently Adopted
Violet is a 5-year-old Poodle who arrived at the Animatch Centre along with some other puppy mill Moms in mid-April. Animatch waited to post Violet’s photo and bio because when she first arrived, we really did not know what to say. We are certain that if she could, Violet would have a tale to bark! Years of neglect and living in a cage affects all dogs differently. Violet would just fall over whenever she was touched and could barely walk – we were not sure if she had a neurological problem or if she was just frozen with fear after years of living in a cage. After a few days, it was decided that Violet needed one on one attention to figure out if she was going to be okay. With the help of her compassionate Foster Mom, Violet has made tremendous progress. She might not have the confidence of other dogs but she is quite capable of leading a happy and normal life. Violet needs another caring and compassionate person to continue her journey. Although she has some hip dysplasia, Violet does not require surgery. Moderate exercise will go a long way into developing her muscles and strengthening her legs. A quiet adult home would best suit Violet. If you feel that you want to make a huge difference in a little dog’s life, please consider adopting Violet. Fill in the Adoption Form, she’s waiting.

Urgh. As I was reading her bio, I started to cry. It’s just so sad. makes me upset, angry, sad, kinda sick all at once. Surely, with support and patience, she will blossom. Thanks for everythign that you do for these little ones
You change lives everyday. And it does not go unnoticed!
That poor sweet baby. I have a soft spot for toy poodles, having lost my darling Abbie (15 yrs old) in October 2011. If I had not already adopted a wee one, I would take Violet in a minute.
LexMeister, I had exactly the same reaction….precious little soul~ Violet, you WILL indeed blossom, you have already begun to. xxoo
Dear little Violet .. no more long stay in a cage .. You will now feel the grass under your feet and the warm sun on your back .. So have fun and some one is out there for you.. HUG and KISSES .....
Yes her Bio made me cry .. better day are ahead ...
Dear little violet .. No more long term in a cage .you are in A very secure and loving home .. You will now feel the grass under your feet and the warm sun on your back .. So have fun and some one is out there for you..Yes reading her bio made me cry .. There are so many cruel people ,taking advantage of poor innocent female .. Locking them up and all they do is babies .. Just like a machine .. CRUEL. so good luck little angel
This made me so upset too and I cried as well as I just have a hard time to think people can be so cruel to innocent animals like these….thank-you to all of you at animatch for what you do for them….
Same here… Tears, anger and all… I know it does’nt help her, but can’t help it. Good luck sweet baby!
Oh be still my heart…she’s such a little bundle of need! I hope someone adopts her soon into a quiet & safe home. Love her!
Bonjour,
Comment va cette belle petite Violette? Est-ce qu’elle va mieux?
Violet has come a long way thanks to the help of her foster parents. She is finally finding out what it means to be a real dog! It took her about a month to figure out what toys were for. She no longer freezes when she meets new people. In fact, she has even been camping and was quite the little social butterfly. She couldn’t wait for the group campfires at nighttime when she could walk around the circle of campers and get some lovin’ from each and every one of them.
What great news. I’m very happy to hear that this little dog is getting better and enjoying life.
Thank you Carrie for the infos.
I would like to congratulate the person who is naming these
adorable lost little dogs after flowers. I hope like flowers
their lives will now bloom into something beautiful.
Violet makes my heart melt. I’ve been toying with the idea of another poodle for my min poodle Diesel(approx 12lbs) He got him from a less than reputable breeder who had him caged his first 6 months. After I picked him up and cuddled him he leaned up against me and it was a done deal. He had no socialization, was scared of everything and everyone except me. It took my husband close to a year to approach him without him cowering. The kids are gone, I don’t work and have all the time and love. Diesel is a timid 4 yr old dog withno aggression, but doesn’t play with other dogs. He adores me with a devotion I have never seen, could I consider another dog or will I be creating jealousy issues? We are quiet people who love the outdoors and RV all summer and where we go so does Diesel. I would love to rescue but my first priority is to the dog I already have. I’ve been going back and forth on this issue for a while.
Diesel & Violet cld meet in a neutral calm area and see what happens
PLUS, there is the 2 week trial period. You sound like you would be an awesome guardian for Violet. AND you may turn out to be very, pleasantly surprised! You just never know.
wow so happy little Violet.. good luck to you all
I’d need lots of info from her foster mom, especially her personality, traits and her problem areas before I consider this further. And Diesel’s reaction would be the deciding factor - as for the 2 week trial period I’m hesitant because I know I’d fall in love with her but also my husband has asthma not severe but would 2 dogs be too much—I want to do the best for Violet and us - such a big decision I must consider everything before I fill out an adoption form.
Well someone is already falling in love with her. Violet has gone to her new home to live with big brother Sammy.
Well, there you go, Violet. A new family loving you already! Good luck little sweetheart! Be happy!
I’m soooo happy for Violet. I’m in no hurry but I’ll keep checking this site. Unfortunately, I can only rescue a toy poodle because of my hubby’s asthma. But now that I know you are willing to give a 2 week trial for the adoption and I know exactly what personality could work with my dog it makes things easier. When it’s meant to be it’ll happen.
So happy for Violet - I didn’t comment before because I just couldn’t .... too many memories ... so so much anger .... now you guys see and know what we ” humans ” do for money.
They ( the animals ) pay the price - with their lives - some of us humans try to piece it all back together ... for those of us who knows that behind all void eyes - lives a golden heart & a pure soul ...my sincere thanks for caring enough to take them in ...
Violet hope the remaining years are filled with so much love from your new guardians - enough to double what you have gone thru. Love Lily - Kody & Sassy No No.
I’m so very happy for Violet….....I couldn’t respond to this one either…........my heart goes out to the wonderful people that are giving this angel a home. She will be the best dog ever if given the chance. Wish there were more people out there to give a loving home and chance to such a furbaby. Bless your hearts and souls!! Please keep us posted.
How is it going with sweet Violet ... hope everything is good.
I think of you often little violet .. How are you doing .. I once had a poodle just like you ..Hope you are enjoying every moment .. Keep us posted .. Big hug ..
Thank you all for thinking about little Violet. She has now been in her forever home for two weeks and is adjusting very well. I have sent in some fan mail on her behalf until she gets around to doing it herself. Please see the fan mail section.
Thanks Carrie…always love hearing your assessments!
Violet doesn’t even look like the same dog….........what a wonderful change in her face and especially her eyes
It’s amazing what a little TLC can do!!!!! Heart warming to see
Big big change in Violet .. of course being next to a handsome dude makes one smile
too ... I am so happy for little Violet - hope she has many more years to enjoy herself.
Hello everyone. Violet’s mummy here. Sorry I didn’t write earlier….I wasn’t sure if I was allowed until after the two week trial but it seems that I can! My husband and I fell in love with Violet the moment we laid eyes on her and I knew I wanted to keep her the moment I picked her up for our first cuddle!! She is doing an amazingly well. She loves to run around in the grass and play with her stuffed toys (she sometimes gives Ben the Bear (her stuffy) a good talking to!!). She still has so much “puppy” in her. To see her so full of life knowing what she has been through is truly a miracle and brings tears to my eyes. I call her my “smooch-aholic”. We spend a lot of time cuddling and she loves to give kisses. She gets along amazingly well with Sammy (my border collie/English setter mix) and my cockatiel Peaches.
She goes to the vet next week for a check up and we will find out at that time if she requires surgery to correct her walking. I will keep everyone posted.
I would like to thank the amazing people at Animatch for trusting me with this beautiful angel. Your hard work and love for animals makes this world a much better place.
Note to Violet: I promise to do my best to make you forget the horrible conditions and life you had. Going forward, you will know nothing but love, tenderness, cuddles and lots of fun!
Tthanks fort he good news .. We need more people like you .. Happy times with Violet .. Sammy and peaches ..
Hi Christine: I should never have opened the email at work because I just bursted into tears after reading your note to Violet - now I have a red nose and red eyes. I made such a promise in 2001 to my first Mill Mum - there is so much love in those little mummies - they are so very grateful to us that they go above and beyond - yet, it’s humans that did her wrong ...
She is just showing you the tip of the iceberg just you wait Christine - the best is yet to come ... I am so happy for you and for Violet ... now will go and try to get these tears to stop.
P.S.
If you so happen to have the chance our first Mill Mum was Lady Q. Even if she wasn’t adopted from Animatch, they gave me permission to put her picture on FanMail.
