A Basset Hound Female named Sidonie

Sidonie is presently Adopted

Sidonie is a 3-month-old, female, Basset who was given up because of illness.  This pup has a pleasant, easy-going nature and loves all creatures – two legged and four legged.  Bassets are the clowns of the dog world; however, before adopting a Basset a person should do their research.  They are not a breed for everyone.  Bassets are independent thinkers, although some people would claim they are stubborn.  They respond to commands at the same speed they do everything else – very slowly.  Patience and consistency during training is important.  Sidonie is not a small dog; Basset Hounds weight between 50-60 lbs. at maturity.  Although Sidonie does not need to run for miles, she does need more than a walk around the block to keep her healthy and fit.  She has a powerful nose and a yen for odours, so a securely fenced yard is a must.  Sidonie, like all Bassets, is very capable of baying or howling so apartment or condo living is not recommended for her.  Bassets definitely need human companionship and since Sidonie is a puppy, a home where she is not alone all day is a must.  There is some toilet training to be expected and Bassets are renowned for taking a little longer than many other breeds.  Do you think that you have what it takes to welcome this woeful looking hush puppy into your home?  Please fill in the Adoption Form if you would like to adopt Sidonie.

Je crois que vous avez raison.  Sidonie ressemble beaucoup plus a un basset artesien.

Sid you look like Farfel who sang, ” N-E-S-T-L-E-S, Nestles makes the very best chocolate”. I know Farfel was a male but Sid is so cute. She reminded me of Farfel the dog back in the 1950’s with Danny O’day with ventriloquist Jimmy Nelson.

So happy Sidonie may have found a family.  She’s so cute.  We already have a bassett hound Maggie, and she is the nicest dog ever.  Sidonie is probably the same.  Good for you Sidonie !!!!
