A Yorkie Male named Pepsi

Pepsi is presently Adopted

Hi, Pepsi here.  I’m not sure how I ended up with this name but it’s growing on me.  I am one of the 9 dogs who were set free by a backyard breeder.  My stud muffin days are over thanks to the good doc who took care of things for me.  I’m small but spunky – a terrier through and through!  I am so looking forward to having my very own home.  My personality starts to shine as soon as I feel comfortable and it doesn’t take me very long.  I’m discovering that I do enjoy a scratch behind the ears and belly rubs make my day.  I’ve been promised a home where there will be no shortage of hugs, cuddles, and kisses.  I’ll need some help with toilet training since no one has properly taught me how that works.  I’m a terrier, so no doubt about it, I’m smart and will learn quickly.  I am anxious to discover all the wonderful things that dogs can do like going for walks, rolling in the snow (I hear that soft grass is nice too), playing with toys, and just hanging out with my human.  I weigh only 8 lbs. so an adult home would best suit me – I want to be the baby of the family!  Do you have a home that needs love and a lap that needs warming?  Then, I might just be the dog for you.  Please fill in the adoption form if you would like to adopt me.  To know me is to love me.

I think that I am gonna turn into a “Lily” and become a Yorkie fan…BIG TIME~ What a precious, little face! All of these little backyard breeder’s pups, I must say, are so alluring and the look in their eyes is so captivating~ I really hope that they soon find wonderful, loving forever homes. They deserve so much more than what life has handed them so far! (‘til now)....  wink

OK, I am a big dogs lover, but I have to admit,..  I’m getting there ... How can you resist a cute face like that, look at his cute nose!  But hey, Lily, thinking about it,  8 lbs for a yorkie…  could he be considered like a big dog?  LOL!

Nope not a big dog grin  good try though…. my Senior Belle is now 12 lbs and she has to lose weight - her walks are shorter - her fun chasing everything that moves days are over….. so, I have to watch what and how much she is eating.

Well Lily,on the opposite of you with Belle, I spent all Toscan’s life trying to put some “stuff” on his tall bones!  I try to keep his weight between 85 and 90 lbs, though he could easily weigh 100… The good thing for him is that in order to make him eat his meal, I always cook some tasty stuff to mix with it : like caribou stew, chicken, sausage, etc…    When he gets out of the pool, all wet, he looks so much like a wolf, with his tall legs!  He is also slowing down, with his hind legs hopping like a rabbit ... Old, but happy!  That’s what you’re gonne be one day, Pepsi, Old and happy…

I know what you mean Viviane, when Camy got sick, she just didn’t want to eat what the vet had sold us KD diet… so, she lost weight - then I learned about home cooked meals geared for renal defiency.  Naturally, Belle got into Camy’s food bowl and loved the stuff….. then little Kody got a taste of it too… now, I am trying to get them OFF of the home food…. they do go on strike but eventually hungry enough to eat their own food grin

Yes Lily, that is the problem with dog food.  But Toscan really hates the smell of the enzyme powder.  It is really strong.  There is a caution notice on the bottle, advising not to inhale, and that people with asthma should not handle the product.  So that’s why he needs to have his meal mixed with something really smelly and good.  The other problem is that he only digest his dry food, and usually I find the rest in the back yard with his…  well, you know!  That’s how I know when the boys gave him pizza, carrots, or other stuff!!!  So, I will go on with the homefood, I guess! LOL!

We do what is necessary for our furbabies regardless - they would go above and beyond for us too….
Had little Kody outside yesterday, poor little tyke don’t like snow storms wink he has to use wee wee pads which he doesn’t like….prefers to go outside.  Was very happy to run in tire tracks lol until Dad could get the yard plowed out.
We went to Tim’s for a coffee and the girls at drive thru said, ”  Ah geez look at the puppy - I told them Kody was going to be 5 this summer - Gosh, he is tiny ”  grin  guess he is ..... but he is my defender regardless.

Lily, your Kody seems like quite a bodyguard! LOL!  Tiny but with a heart as big as a shopping center!  They all got their habits, right?  Considering his size, I try to imagine myself in the middle of many walls of snow and ice… hum….. I think I would love tire tracks too!  HaHa!

I promise you guys that next storm, I will take a picture of Kody running up and down the tire track made by our 4x4…  I imagine Kody will be happy when this snow is all gone and that once again he can roam our yard ( supervised that is by Mom - Dad and Belle ) to his little heart’s content….

What I wouldn’t give to see this little cutie curled up and cuddling with Brady and Marley.  But alas, our Jake is (happily!) still with us and that means we’re already over the limit.  I wonder how long I could keep telling my neighbours that we’re just babysitting for friends?  This little guy is a DOLL!  At 6 years old, he is my version of perfection.

Unfortunately, after further evaluation and consultation with our Vet, Animatch felt that Kovi was not adoptable.  We will stick with a dog through thick and thin but the one things we cannot tolerate is aggression.  We could not with a clear conscience place Kovi in a home.  Every now and then we have to make this difficult decision and it’s never easy.  However, as those of you who follow our adoptees through their journey with Animatch know, there are so many dogs in need of our help that we have to concentrate on those dogs.  It is sad for all who work with the dogs but we must keep our “eye on the ball” ... finding good homes for adoptable dogs.

Now we need to concentrate on getting this little guy, Pepsi, his furever home.

Sad .... but probably the best decision.  Thank you for letting us know. Now, like you said, let’s concentrate on finding homes for all the others.

Viviane was wondering where you were - didn’t see a comment from you for a few days.  I have a new pic of Kody in Fanmail…. finally learned how to play with toys…. we got him a harness and we are working with him in order to have his fear of leash gone before we open our trailer in May.  I am anxious and not because the kids will be coming to play with Camy and I have to break their little hearts.  I made copies of pictures of our little Camy - place it in 5 different cards and will be giving them to the kids so they can have a small reminder of their little friend.

Hi Lily!  I was on vacation last week.  A last minute decision… This time, Toscan stayed with the boys, and when we called, they always said “Le gros bébé s’ennuie de sa maman!”... Guess what was the first thing I did ... after showing my furbabies how much I missed them too, of course!... I jumped on my computer so see the news.
I went to see Kody’s picture in the Fan Mail section.  He is soooo adorable!  I loved you comments too!  So funny!  As for braking the toys, Kody is Toscan’s carbon copy… 86 lbs lighter, of course!  Hope the harness works well with him!  Love the idea of the cards and picture of Camy for the children, so thoughtful of you!  Not that I am surprised…
Pepsi, I hope you find a home as wonderful and loving as Lily’s!

The harness is working an awful lot better than just clipping a leash on his colar…. he is afraid when we switch from colar to harness.  I make it into a nightly game with lots of belly rubs ( which he is getting used to ) cuddles etc… we have a string tied to his harness like a volunteer advised us to do… he is slowly realizing that it will be okay.
We are also taking him for short drives when it’s not -25 grin so that he can get used to our car trips starting this Spring. Camy had same problem with taking drives, I used to clip a medallion on her colar after a bit she realized that each time I would clip her crown medallion ( given to her by a little mentally challenge girl at park ) we would go to our trailer… she associated the two and her shaking stopped. We will find something for Kody too I am positive the shaking will stop by mid-summer and like my girls will know when to start gettting excited ... Grand Ma usually waited for the girls with treats at campground grin  What are Grandmas for if not to spoil her grand dogs hein !!!!
