Laika is a 4.5-year-old, Terrier x Shih Tzu, who was given up along with Ramone, because of a separation/divorce. The family member who was left with the dogs felt that they were spending too much time alone; the decision was made to find them a better living situation. Laika is a sweet, friendly, girl who will make her new family an awesome companion. Although she has lived with Ramone, they need not be adopted together. She gets along well with all the dogs at the Centre and connects very quickly with humans. Laika enjoys going for walks and is always ready for some cuddles. She is well past the puppy stage and know what it takes to live in a home. Laika is gentle and sweet and needs a human who is the same. She looks exactly like my Tara, who is a X Shitzu/Lhasa Apso, she’s 15, sadly she never really adapted well to other dogs, although I would LOVE to adopt Laika, I have to resign myself to pass this over. It saddens me that I can’t because I know Tara may not make it through 2012, but one never knows. <sigh>

Hi Monique.. I know what you are going through.. We had to let our Chloé go to the rainbow land .. She was 14 .. But for now give all your LOVE to Tara .. Good luck and a big HUG to your fur baby ..

Thanks Françoise, I hope she’ll get through this year. She’s got pancreatitis and her kidneys only function at 25%, so we do everything we can do to get her through this and hopefully she’ll be able to last as long as possible.
