A Pomeraniean Male named Jappy

Jappy is presently Adopted
Jappy is on his way to Toronto (along with Camellia) where we hope it will not take long before he is in a loving, forever home. This little Pom with the mega personality has been with Animatch since August 2011 and since that time very few people have shown any interest in adopting him. Jappy was a regular on the Meet & Greet circuit, has spent several weeks at Auberge Zen where he made incredible progress, and he is amazing with other dogs – big and small, old and young. Apparently, Toronto has a much easier time placing small dogs so Animatch felt that it was the right thing to do ... to let him have his chance at finding a family who will care for him for the rest of his life. We will miss this spunky, outgoing, fellow and hope to hear when he had been adopted.
Many thanks to Sandie, Alain, and Virginie at Auberge Zen for all the work they did with Jappy.
Jappy here and I’m just checking in from Auberge Zen in beautiful downtown Laval. Since I’m such a little spark plug and a quick learner, I was deemed a great candidate for training. I’m not sure that I have everyone trained yet but I sure am working on it. Alain and Virginie, the people supervising the training, say that I show promise. I have a lot of energy and keeping my mind occupied is just as important as exercising my body. So, that’s it for now folks. Will write soon ... gotta go, another class! Don’t forget I still so-oooo need a home so please don’t forget me, apply to adopt me!
Jappy is a Pomeranian, approximately 4 years old, who came to Animatch via the pound—another unclaimed treasure! True to his name, he loves to hear himself talk, so apartment condo living would not be for him. Despite his small stature, Jappy is very active and will need plenty of exercise. Keeping him busy with walks, runs, games, and toys will be good for his body and his mind. Dogs who bark for attention are often bored. Although he tips the scale at 8 lbs., he would still make a great walking or hiking partner. Jappy will need frequent brushing to keep his coat free of matts. Since we have no history on him, an adult home or one where children are older would be ideal. If you are looking for a little guy with a big personality, Jappy might just be the dog for you. Please fill in the Adoption Form if you would like to adopt Jappy.

Poor Jappy you look so sad :(....but let me tell you a secret you are one lucky dog because you will soon find a nice home where you will be loved and protected
) Hang in there little cutie!
Are you kidding me? He has a big grin on his face…at least he’s smart enough to live each moment as it comes and now he is safe and secure under Animatch’s protective wing. But, honestly, he needs a new name…like Stanley! LOL ok, I’ll shut up now…getting late, time for bed…
I met Jappy at the Animatch Ask the Experts event on Wenesday and what a sweet boy. Unlike his name, he was very un-Jappy, quiet, happy and well-behaved, coming over over a scritch under his chin.
lol Kat I love it, I am all for the dignified people names for animals as well! You won’t find any Fluffys or Mittens in my house… Stanley, a good solid name! :-D
he is so cute
Good on you Jappy (in my heart you will always be Stanley to me
) - wish you every happiness with your new family, little one!
YIPPY !!!! for Jappy !! hope this is your so long wanted loving home .. good luck ..I love you .....
Jappy is still available. Person who was going to adopt seems to be m.i.a. (missing in action)
soooooooo sorry Jappy .. I am sure there is Someone out there.. Love your little face .. I will pray a little harder for your next familly be the right one ....
OMG! M.I.A.? That is so NOT COOL! I hope that there was another family interested and lined up, and if not, hang in there Jappy, you are still in very good hands!
Well heck, M.I.A. .....unless something REAL BAD happened, when I say I am going to be there I AM…. I would let Animatch know and if I wasn’t able to - someone in my family would contact Animatch ! One has to wonder about committment? surely being Oct 17th you’d think they would have showed signs of life ????
YIPPY !!!! for Jappy !! hope this is your so long wanted loving home .. good luck ..I love you ..... I just adopted Lilly yesterday and what a pleasure to have done it .. good luck to you Jappy .. You deserve a loving home .. I have seen you a few times at Greet and meet .. and I must say that you are a very happy dog ..
Good luck and I hope this is the last time that you come back .. Love you little one
Oh, Good Lord…sweet Jappy! What’s going on with you, sweetheart? I’ll keep checking up on you, and in the mean time, my wish for you is that you find your FOR SURE FOREVER FAMILY!!!!!
Yes, unfortunately Jappy is back. He was peeing and pooping in the house; not sure what that was all about. Just not the right match. We’ll get it right next time!
Must of been either over excited or too nerveous…. I started Camy & Kody on wee wee pads their aim wasn’t perfect mind you but once they got the hang of that, we just kept moving it closer to the door. Until they knew where it was to stay… once that hurdle over with, it was outside and lots and lots of praise AND TREATS…... Got our little man trained in not 2 weeks… Camy a bit longer because she wasn’t a little piglet who justs loves to eat.. like Joanne said ” we’ll get it right next time!”
Jappy’s new photos are gorgeous - what a happy little grin! Jappy is clean at Animatch but sometimes changes in routine throw a dog off being clean in the house. Belle was like that at first, but we are finally getting used to her quiet ways of letting us know when she needs to go out, and voila!!! Perfect dog! Perfect, happy little loving squirt that I wouldn’t exchange with any other even if she pooped in my house the rest of her life. (knock on wood! LOL)
Hi Jappy .. you handsome little one .. I pray very often to see “”“"on trial ‘’‘’‘'beside your name .. You have been there long enough and maybe for one good reason ..for the PERFECT match .. Love you little Jappy
I am surprised to see that Jappy is still here after many months… I have “worked” with him at Animatch Meet and Greet’s on more than one occasion, and he is simply an adorable, loving dog. Such a sweetheart. As for the barking, he didn’t make a sound during the couple of events that I worked at. Besides, there are many ways to reduce problematic barking in a dog, and I’m sure his future “pack leader” could get many tips from the great Animatch volunteers to help Jappy with this… Hope you find your right match soon buddy, you definitely deserve a good home…
You are right Fanny .. I have also met him at a couple of meet and greet .. A very good dog very playful and did not bark ..He has been at the shelter so long.. But still of lots of love and care from the volunteers .. He is a good lap dog .. And very sweet .. lots of kisses ... So good luck Jappy ..By Valentine day We all want to see reserved and on trial by your name .. Take care and I pray for you to have a loving home very soon xoxoxo
FYI your name does not suite you Because you are not (Yappy) dog ..
Yipeeeeee! Jappy will be at the Bark and Brunch this Sunday!
What time will Jappy be there ?? I will be there for 1130.. hope to see him and maybe other which I hope I will recognize.
we want you to get adopted for Valentine .. Good luck little Jappy ..
Looking forward to Sunday
Jappy…I got to see you today. You are a real little cutie! I live with a YAPPY one myself….(barks, whimpers, whines and howls at everything that passes in front of the house, and I live on a very busy street) and actually, she has now succeeded in getting the BIG DOG to join in. We call it “the concert”~and yes, while we USED to think it was so cute…we now get quite annoyed at the intensity of it all! Luckily, we can get Millie to stop pretty much on command~All that to say….if neighbours are not an issue…YAPPINESS is surely something that can be “worked” on! Good luck, Jappy! It’s time you move on sweetheart! xxoo
OMG!! You should have seen this guy at the second sitting of the Bark N Brunch…his name should be changed to “Mellow Belly”, because he was so zen and relaxed, 4 paws in the air only moving to guide you to the right spot to massage!! He is a delightful boy and even some of the guests mentioned that their own hyper or anxious dogs were more mellow around Jappy. He will make a great family dog.
Yes girls .. Jappy is a very cute and intelligent little dog .. I have seen him a few times at “”” Meet and Greet “and I found him a very quite dog and very affectionate ,.. So good luck Jappy and we are still crossing our fingers that your time is We hope very near to have your permanent home were you will be loved .. XOXOXO”
Kat thank you for your nice comment on Jappy ..and for all the good work you all do ..
And all the volunteers giving all their precious time and love to all those precious dogs ..I enjoyed my first visited at The Bark and Brunch and it will not be my last time
such an awsome looking dog hope he gets a wonderfull family and i also love your name good luck
Wish I had a house and not a condo. He’d have made a perfect brother to my 4-year old Yorkie-Pom. GL Jappy.
Well, look who is the lucky fella to be a student with Alain and his students at Auberge Zen! Our very own little Jappy! So happy for you little fella - go show them what Poms are made of, Mr Mellow Belly.
You are so irresistable!
WOW Jappy you are off to vacation land
You have been at the shelter since August !!!! It is about time for you to have a permanent home.. I have seen you a few times .. you are adorable .. And yes you like your belly rubbed !!
.GOOD luck at Auberge Zen ...
Kate ,Lilly and Debbie .. I LOVE reading all your comments so well describe.. Debbie will you be at the Pasta for Pups..? 27 April ?? I will get back to you on face book .. I am working on it .. a little slow but getting there !!!!!
Have good day unfortunately.. Rain .. But A nice week end ahead ..Lilly I have friends from New Brunswick..
They are all wonderful people .. Big hugs to all your furbabies
Which part of New Brunswick… I am in the Northern part of the region - a bridge connects our City to Qc…
Meanwhile, Jappy going on a vacation is cool way to describe it, Kat…. Hopefully a furever family is just around the corner for him.
Hi Françoise…I answered you on FB…and also, have you checked out the Animatch Dog Adoption page on Facebook? It’s fantastic! Jappy! way to go little dude!...You go and get yourself some ZEN….Hopefully, a family will be waiting for you upon your return!
That’s very funny (or maybe cynical?) : “in beautiful downtown Laval”!!! Auberge Zen is a very good place for dogs, but situated in the industrial zone, not so beautiful… And I don’t know if something like downtown Laval does really exist! Well, that must be my weirdo point of view! good luck Jappy and have fun with the doggies. You can even meet my Lucky sometimes. He loves to play.
I’m sorry it didn’t work out here for Jappy the beautiful Pom. He a darling boy, but was said to be unsuitable for apartment living, too vocal, so not a candidate for me, for instance, and probably for a lot of others. I hope he finds a nice home in TO, though I’m not sure it’s because he’s a small dog that he didn’t find one here. ‘bye Jappy, I’ll miss your pretty face!
No, Jappy not finding a home had nothing to do with him being small. The barking was definitely an issue because it immediately eliminates people in apartments/condos. Many people who are looking for small dogs are looking for non-shedders ... and Poms do shed quite a bit. That too may have contributed a little (but not even sure). In any case, our fingers are crossed that Jappy will be in his furever home, very soon.
dear Jappy I will miss you..
Good luck in Toronto.. Hope they find you a permanent loving home very soon .. it has been too long .... love you little one
Shame on Quebecers. The only difference between Toronto and Montreal is the attitude of the general public and its government.
Oh No! I think I may of found someone to adopt Jappy, she was looking for a companion for her pomeranian. pls someone tell us who we can contact in toronto if he is already gone. She has contacted animatch yesturday by phone and left a message. her name is Nancy. Thank-you
Jappy! You’re leaving LA BELLE PROVINCE???...Well, it’s not always so lovely here, is it???? I wish you much luck and happiness in your new location. I hope that some kind hearted soul, scoops you up in a jiffy, Jappy! Bye Bye little man…kiss Camellia for me, too!
Good luck little Jappy! May your loving home be waiting for you in Toronto! Have a wonderful life!
Good luck Jappy & Camellia .. You are both leaving Quebec for Toronto as a couple .. Good luck to you both .. Hope we get a feed back when you are adopted.. love you both
Have a good trip, Jappy and Camellia. Maybe we can see you on the website of your new shelter? I wish you better success there and a happy life with people knowing how to take care of your wonderful fur, people used to care for colleys or shelties, or those funny long haired creatures, white and grey very big english dogs.
Must have been a difficult decision for Helen and Joanne to
send these dogs to TTO,but as always they have dog’s best future happiness as their goal.
By the way Old English do not shed or bark very often
or mine did not,he only barked once big deep bark and
no-one on my apt floor would open doors as
unwanted stranger approaching. Now I have house very
pleased to have small bark alarm dogs give a great sense
of safely for me at dark too busy sleeping to patrol.
