My name is Gumdrop and I was under the mistaken impression that it was an honour to be the first dog featured on the Adoptees page. But someone just burst my bubble and told me that being first means that you are the dog that has been at Animatch the longest! I read my bio and although the person who wrote it didn’t pull any punches, I asked if I could say a few words for myself. I think there is a family out there who really needs me. Don’t feel bad about my past, what’s most important is my future and I want to make a difference in my new family’s life. I know there is someone who really needs a friend like me, someone who is looking for a lifelong companion. I promise to keep you safe by alerting you to strangers. I promise to keep you fit and healthy by getting you out and walking. I promise to bring a smile to your face. The only promise that I ask of you is to let me share your life for the rest of my days! I’ll come through for you if you come through for me!

Gumdrop is a two-year-old, Jack Russell Terrier who came to us as a stray. This feisty, little, JRT needs a guardian who is experienced with the breed. Jack Russell’s are not the breed for a first family dog. Gumdrop, like all JRT’s, has boundless energy and will need lots of exercise. Gumdrop is a confident dog who will benefit from Obedience Training Classes. Jack Russell’s tend to have an assertive nature and must be trained and handled properly. Gumdrop definitely needs a fenced yard to keep her safe; she is a hunting dog and is hardwired to chase her prey. The pursuit of squirrels is her “raison d’être”. If you are a dog sports enthusiast, Gumdrop would definitely enjoy and benefit from the challenge of agility, fly ball, or even Frisbee. Les terriers sont tellement drôles et celui-là a beaucoup d’expressions variées dans son regard. Il a l’air intelligent et très communicatif. J’aimerais bien avoir toute une meute, comme César!

I have a jack myself and looooovvveee my doggie. My dog Sky, is the most affectionate puppy there is. Jacks are super intelligent and very cuddly dogs. They are high energy and do need lots of exercise. They do calm down with age, mine is over 3 now and is alot calmer. They are so smart and they are quite a catch.

If I had I yard I would definitely want to give her the home she so desperately needs. I sincerely hope she finds her human soulmates soon.

She is absolutely beautiful! Jacks are truly special dogs! Very loving and very intelligent! I have put in an application for her, I hope she is still available! She could be the perfect playmate for my 5 year old female Jack named Shadow!
