Emma, Shayla and Alexa are littermates and they are approximately 3-4 months old. They came into this world because their Mom’s owner did not have the sense to have their dog sterilized. They let her have a litter (we don’t know how many puppies she had) and unceremoniously dumped the leftovers at the pound. Hopefully, Mom is sterilized very soon but we can’t really count on that! It’s the start of a brand new day for Emma and she will soon be on her way to a new happy life with a furever family. Puppies are a lot of work and Lab puppies are really a lot of work. If you don’t have the time, then don’t do the crime of adopting a Lab. Emma will be an awesome family dog but she will need lots of exercise, especially during her adolescence. Don’t count on her being a mellow couch potato. That wouldn’t be a lab! Emma and her sisters have a zest for life and they will not lose their playful puppy spirit. She will be a high energy dog requiring lots of physical activity in addition to mental stimulation. Emma should definitely go to obedience training classes – puppy, basic, and advanced. Remember, trained dogs are happier, healthier and have a stronger bond with their humans. She will also need a home where she is not alone more than a few hours – puppies need constant attention and they need to go out often. Emma has the potential of being a great family dog if her family can provide the exercise and training that she will need.
