A Puggle Female named Dolly

Dolly is presently Adopted

FINAL UPDATE:  Let the bells ring out and the banners fly!!!!!!  I’ve got a home and I’ll be on my way in a few days.  I can hardly wait; my lucky day has finally come!  Many thanks to Sandie and Alain at Auberge Zen for all the work they did with me.  I’ll miss you guys.

UPDATE:  Come on people, give me a break ... I mean a home!  Dolly here and I have been with Animatch since August 2010 and I know there is a dog, named Roxy, who was at Animatch for one year.  I DO NOT want to break her record.  I’m still at Auberge Zen and have completed an entire whole session; my buddy Elmo is going to his new home.  Sandie says I’m one smart cookie and my new guardian will always have to be one step ahead of me but everyone at Auberge Zen agrees that I am a fun and intelligent dog. I do need to go to the right home for me though because I definitely want it to be furever.  I’m active and busy, so no couch potatoes please!  I’d love to continue my obedience training and will need lots of exercise.  In return, I promise to be an awesome dog.  So don’t dilly dally, fill in that Adoption Form.  Come on people, let’s go.

UPDATE:  Dolly is benefitting from some training at Auberge Zen in Laval.  Sandie Wand, President and Founder, of this training facility approached Animatch before Christmas asking for a dog that could benefit from some training.  Dolly seemed like the perfect dog for the project and this will hopefully improve her chances for a successful adoption.  Here are some of Sandie’s comments.

“Well Dolly is doing well!  She’s a smart and alert little cookie!!  She does very well in daycare with other dogs!  She’s in the “big dog” group.
Dolly’s training is coming along.  They started by teaching her the command “tapis”, so that she would go on it on q.  She knows the sit, stay, and has now started the heeling and down!  They’ve also been working on her house manners!  No jumping on tables, stealing food….... cause she’s pretty agile too!”

Looks like our Dolly is an “A” student!
************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Dolly is a 1.5-year-old, Puggle, who is another pound pup left unclaimed.  A Puggle is a cross breed—a Pug crossed with a Beagle – a “designer” dog.  Of course, Puggles were bred to have all the best characteristics of both breeds; unfortunately they also inherit the not so great characteristics.  Dolly is a very active dog and can be hyper if she does not get the opportunity to expend her energy.  She will need long walks daily and LOTS of playtime to ensure that she is happy and healthy.  No couch potatoes for this girl!  Dolly wants to please and would benefit greatly from obedience training classes.  Since she is part Beagle, a securely fenced yard is a must.  She gets along well with other dogs and a home with an energetic dog would be a plus.  Dolly is not the type of dog that would do well being left alone all day; she has far too much energy for that lifestyle.  Are you looking for a walking or hiking partner who will be quite content to be at your side in the great outdoors?  Please consider adopting Dolly and fill in the Adoption Form if she is the one for you.

I have a pug/beagle and it’s true they are high energy but they are also the sweetest most loving dogs and they do love cuddling! Anyone would be lucky to end up with Dolly!

You are right, Puggle are super dogs.  If you can give them the right amount of exercise, they are amazing.  Dolly has a very sweet character.

Dolly is back!  Neither Dolly nor the family who adopted are at fault.  The family has an older dog and Dolly was just a little much for him.  We’ll get it right next time.

Truly breaks my heart she is still here. I also have a 1.5 year old puggle and agree wholeheartedly with Allison : most wonderful dogs, super sweet and very intelligent. Eyes that will melt your heart. They do have alot of energy but it’s really nothing that a good walk or playtime at a dogpark doesn’t cure. I wish I could adopt her, but I don’t have the space for a second dog. Here’s hoping someone out there is up to giving her a chance

Ok - this is killing me. I check every day to see if Dolly is adopted. I keep working on my boyfriend in the hopes that he will change his mind about getting a second dog - but no luck yet! Please somebody open your heart and your home to this beautiful girl - she deserves it!

As you can see by our Adoptees, it now takes longer for dogs to find their furever homes.  Rescues in Quebec are overcrowded and trying to make room for more abandoned/stray dogs .... and still irresponsible people keep buying and puppymills and backyard breeders keep breeding.  Until there are changes, many dogs’ future hang in the balance.

We need homes—but not just any home—we need homes that are prepared to make a life-long commitment to our dogs.

I too hope that Dolly soon finds her match.

I was just going to say that my Puggle is very curious with cats but not in a harmful way - I think he wants to play! I`m sure if introduced properly and given the time to interact and bond properly Puggles would live wonderfully with cats! They love everything - dogs, people, food, toys!

Hi!  I am actively trying to adopt Dolly!  I have absolutely fallen in love with the breed since rescuing my boy puggle (Henry) from a shelter when he was 8 weeks old… he is now 3 and I love him to pieces!!!  I am about to finish school and moving into a house with my fiance that is on 5 acres!!! Perfect for all the energy puggles have, and I will be home all day, except when I’m running errands!!  I hope so badly that this works out, but I was hoping to hear from Joanne or Cindy by now, and don’t know how to “keep the ball moving”... any advice?!?!?!?

I was so taken with her adorable face that she was the subject of my oil portrait for the Animatch fundraiser at Galerie Ouest. My grand daughter fell in love with the painting of Dolly which now hangs in her bedroom. I’ll send a picture of my painting of Dolly to her new family if they would like.

We are all happy when we see a furbaby that has been at Animatch for a long period of time find their furever family.  Some furbabies are special just like Dolly…( I can name a few off hand if you wish; BUT I believe the loyal followers all know who I mean.) and it takes a special family to committ to them.  Where the life and happiness of any animal is concerned; time is not the important factor here. So, I too wish to thank this very special family for the new addition to their family - for all the new experiences coming their way I say :  ENJOY TO THE FULLEST.

P.S.  Don’t forget to send us pictures !!!!
