A Bouvier-X Male named Cap'n Crunch

Cap'n Crunch is presently Adopted

Hey, everybody, I’m back!  Sadly, my adoption did not work out but I’m an eternal optimist and just know that next time will be for keeps.

Cap’n Crunch is my name and I am a 5-year-old, Bouvier-X, who was given up because my family had no time for me.  Do you remember the litter of five puppies that were up for adoption a few months ago who were named after different cereals (Special K, Total, Cheerio, Mueslix, and Kashie)?  Guess who’s their Daddy?  Yup, me…. Cap’n Crunch (aka The Dogfather).  My days of siring puppies have come to and end and that suits me just fine.  One thing we don’t need is more puppies brought into this world when pounds, shelters and rescues have no room to stack them!  All the Volunteers think I’m a very handsome dude with a cool personality.  I get along very well with other dogs and I’m friendly and sociable with humans too.  I’d say that I’m just an all-around good guy.  I know the ins and outs of living in a home.  I so have some separation anxiety as I tend to bark when I am alone; so I would not be suitable for apartment/condo living.  I need a feline free home—cats and I just don’t go well together.  The best years of my life are ahead of me.  Would you like to share them with me?  Please fill in the Adoption Form and ask for Cap’n Crunch.

    Bonjour,

Sorry to see you back - especially from such a distance - at least your adoptive parents kept their agreement and brought you back.  Your next home will hopefully be your last…. keep up the faith .... just a matter of time.
Talking of time, on Sept 3rd, it will be a year that we have adopted our little man ( The Great Destroyer ) Kody !!!  Time simply flies unreal !!!

Captain’ Crunch that we had renamed Rocco is a fantastic dog, great with kids and with people.  He has a great disposition, is calm and knows his commands, loves kisses and hugs, does not have a mean bone in him, and gives you his paw when you have him sit.  He just wants to be by your side at all times and really enjoys spending time with people.  We are really sad it did not work out however we loved him enough to make sure to drive him back where they took good care of him.  We really hope he will find a great family to adopt him and love him…because he really deserves it.  We will keep and eye out for you sweetheart and wish you a happy, happy life.

Wow, good for you for keeping your word and bringing him back to the center from Calgary.  You give such a glowing testimony.  I’m not sure I understand what happened…was it the separation anxiety?

He is such a sweet boy…I am sure he will land on all fours!!!!

Diandpat, Rocco only deserves the best and unfortunately we were unable to give him that any more.  He was never left alone since we have had him (my husband works from home and I work from home 3/5 days a week), so we never saw any issue with separation anxiety.  The problem was us and not Rocco.  I had a knee operation a few months ago and my husband just tore a ligament in his shoulder last week so we were unable to give Rocco the exercise he needed and we did not feel it was fair to him to only give him a short walk or leave him in the backyard.  He loves his walks smile and is great when meeting other dogs, he is one to socialize with other pooches and humans alike smile  We wanted to keep him balanced and that can only be achieved by giving him the exercise he needs…unfortunately, my husband with his shoulder and me with my knee were unable to do that any longer and we want him to have a happy, happy life.  He is a fantastic and happy dog and we wish a wonderful family will be able to give him a wonderful and balanced life.  We loved him enough to give him that chance even if it was heart wrenching for us.  Sherri and Helene have been great in supporting us during this difficult decision and we know he is in good hands until he finds his forever home.

Don’t you hate getting old and everything starts to break?  LOL Hope you both heal well.  As for Rocco, he has already had more people take better care of him and Animatch and in your home then for all the years prior.  He will definitely end up in the perfect place and he will have you and your selflessness to thank for that.

    Hello!
I’m reading through capncrunch biography, and he sounds wonderful! I read that he’s not good with cats, but how do you think he’d be around rabbits? We have two that are free run rabbits and would like to find a dog that will be accepting of this!

    Thanks

We really hope we are accepted. We have a large house and a very large backyard. We have a 2 yr old Aussiedoodle looking for a friend and 4 young children who know all the rules of how to act around a dog. Plus since we have had large dogs their whole lives, they are used to being bumped around by big dogs, lol. Also I am at home with the kids so he would not be home on his own very much. Fingers crossed.

    Hi Sabrina,
We had Captain Crunch for 3 weeks and while he had him we saw how much he loved being around kids.  He is a very sweet dog, not a mean bone in him, loves to be around people and needs his hugs and kisses.  Your family sounds like a great match and I am sure your kids will be thrilled to have him around and he will love the attention.  He knows his commands and loves to give his paw when you ask him to sit.  He loves to be in the same room as everyone and often just comes up for a hug.  I wish you a great life with him.smile
