A Labrador Retriever-X Female named Beulah

Beulah is presently Available for Adoption

Where, oh where is my family???  Doesn’t anybody want me?  Come on people.  Take a look at this face and tell me I’m not a beautiful dog.  I am at Tri-L Kennels with my buddy, Hendrix, where I am getting more training from Larry L.  I am definitely learning and trying to be the best dog that I can be because I so want my very own home. Larry said that if I go to a home with another dog, it should be a calm and mellow dog.  I don’t need a rambunctious, over-excited dog to get me revved up.  He even has me walking by cats without lunging—now that is something to see!  I need an experienced guardian who is willing to continue to do some training so that we can bond.  You know I so love people and want to spend the rest of my life making my human happy—all I need is a chance.  So please, take a second look and if you can give me what I need I can be packed and ready to go in a flash!

UPDATE - Jan. 2012:  Beulah here and I’m back.  I learned so much while I was away at Auberge Zen.  Now I jump on people only now and then instead of ALL the time, I am not as mouthy as I used to be, and have learned a few manners.  I am definitely a work in progress but oh so smart, if given the chance.  I’m a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky, Lab, and that’s not going to change any time soon.  I am really looking to settle down in a home soon and prove to my guardian that I am a wonderful dog.  I LOVE toys and if you give me a toy to carry around, I’m in heaven!  I’m a big girl with tons of personality and I am just ready and eager to move on to the next stage of my live.  I’m ready to do whatever I have to do to prove to you that I’m the gal you’ve been waiting for!  Come on .... fill in that Adoption Form.

Oh, and one more thing .... NO CATS, PLEASE

Hey, Beulah here and Ive got a bone to pick with my previous family.  How could they just leave me to fend for myself; where did they think Id go?  Its not like they gave me a map or a bus ticket!  Well, Im just going to put one paw in front of the other and move on with my life.  Yup, Im going to adopt a family.  Im looking for a family that I can take for lots of walks and I do mean that I will be taking the lead.  If being dragged around at the end of the leash doesnt seem like much fun, then lets do obedience together.  You can never be too smart and Im sure that you will catch on quickly; don`t worry I will be patient.  The fact that I learn quickly and will want to please you will definitely be an asset.  Id really appreciate a family that will buy me lots of toys; I do have a passion for tennis balls.  I would especially like a human who has a good arm and can throw that ball really far; not to worry, Ill bring it back to you!  Labs never say no to food but I need a human who will help me loose the extra pound or two that slows me down when I am retrieving my ball.  A good balanced meal is what I need; maybe a carrot or two as a treat!  Although I love humans of any size, it would probably be best if children were older.  I tend to be over enthusiastic and might knock little ones over.  If my family can give me an energetic canine sister or brother, that would be appreciated.  If not, you wont be disappointed in having me as your only girl.  In a nutshell, I`m looking for a soft bed, lots of exercise, lots of toys, good food, and good friends four legged and two-legged.  If you think that you can give me the life I deserve, then fill in the Adoption Form.  I may just pick you!

Another beauty! Don’t worry Beulah, once you let the good folks at Animatch know your criteria for your new family, they’ll be more than happy to oblige, and don’t forget to include “FOREVER FAMILY” in your request! I think your ‘stop over’ will be a short one! wink

Beulah certainly does look happy. I’m sure that with that “smile” she will find her furever home soon.

Don’t wonder too much about your previous guardians, Beulah - humans are not the brightest or kindest species on the earth.  We rarely play by Mother Nature’s rules, unfortunately. :-(  Luckily, there are a subset of humans who have the “unselfish, compassionate” gene crossed with the “hardworking, focused” gene and they more than make up for those who, like your guardian, inherited the “Navel gazer” gene.  Personally, I think you have hit the jackpot with Animatch because Helen and her crew are unselfish, compassionate, hardworking and focused!  They will watch out for you and make sure you are well taken care of until they can find you the perfect furever family.  They are completely picky and will weed out all the Navel-gazers to ensure that your next family have the right genes.  In the meantime, relax and have fun, Beulah, ‘cause I think your forever family won’t wait too long to come looking for you. xoxox

It should also answer the questions you asked earlier and are so upset about - navel gazers are so self absorbed they cannot hear or comprehend anything beyond their own experience and thinking.  You have to get them young before the gene activates, then they can nag their navel gazing parents into action.  They’ll either do it but only to shut up the children or they’ll blame you for their own poor choices then find a way to shut you out of their child’s life. I’m speaking from first-hand experience as unfortunately, this gene runs on both sides of our family. :-(

Yippppeeeee for Beulah!  Auberge Zen is a perfect place for a high energy pooch like you - all that space to run around and getting to meet other canine friends, plus learning from pros like Alain and Sandie. I am really happy for you, Beulah dear, having all the best experiences that Animatch can give you before your furever family comes along to whisk you away and make all your dreams come true. I know you will happily slurp it all up and be the great Canine Citizen you were always meant to be!

    Merci

Bonjour Julie and Harold, very sorry to hear of your recent loss. Pardon my written french. smile

There are a few babies here that need to have a ‘lucky Lily scarf’.  How about sewing a couple together to make them fit.  They have such beautiful faces and there isn’t any interest in them!!!

I will look through Toscan’s stuff:  I might find some scarves that fit those bigger dogs!  Then, I will send them to Animatch.  Just in case they would be as lucky as Lily’s! LOL!

Hi, I would like to remove the request we put in on January, 27, 2012 for Beulah. message was from Julie Beaulieu and Harold Porter. The reason for this is because we found another dog and my wife put our personel phone numbers and would like to have it removed so we do not get phone calls. Plese let me know ASAP when this is done. I tryed to remove it myself but can not.

    I thank you in advance

    Hi my Beulah,
I volunteer at the center and I am so in love with you.
I unfortunatley cannot take you because I have a little 6 months old baby who needs lots of my attention. I simply want to tell anyone who has experience and has time to devote to her to please adopt her!! She is such a beautiful and affectionate dog. If you simply spend some quality time with her she will be attentive to you and trust me she will make you fall in love with her quickly like she did with me! I hope you will find the right person for you Beulah!!!
I see you soon at the center….... smile

Saw the new Beulah today at my obedience class.  She was assisting the teacher.  OMG she has come a long way.  She heels beautifully, sits and downs on command.
    A little lady.

she just needs a home now to burn her energy and continue the work Larry has done.  She is going to make a great companion to the right family.
