Thank you again for sending us another beautiful angel

Hi Helen and all the wonderful Animatch people:
Bruce (formerly Troy) just celebrated his 1st birthday. Peter and I
must tell you that he is a perfect match. We love him dearly. He is
quite the character, always ready to play, willing to play ball 24/7.
Enclosed are some pix of him in action.
He is so much, all rolled up into one dog, smart, sensitive, comical,
playful, serious, and very loving. He always makes me laugh. I can
come home feeling tired and blah but as soon as I walk in the door and
Bruce greets me, everything just fades away and he’s got me laughing
and ready to play ball. Shep (another Animatch adoptee adopted by my
son) comes over a couple of times a week to play and exercise with
Bruce, keeping both of them in top shape.
Bruce loves everyone he meets, a real social character, always happy
happy to see people. He loves our grandchildren and seems to
intuitively know to watch over them. I was out hiking with Bruce
and my grandson and after a while realized that Bruce was guarding
him. He didn’t let him out of his sight for a minute. They don’t
call them “dog nannies” for nothing!
We think that Bruce is a good mix of Pitbull and Boxer. I can’t get
used to the dirty looks we get from people and then reading their lips
as they turn their heads and say, “Pitbull!!”
In reading up on the breed I came across this poem that I would like
to share with you and all the animal lovers out there. (Below)
Thank you again for sending us another beautiful “angel.” There’s
nothing better than waking up to Bruce in the morning and finding he’s
cuddled right up to you, under the covers with his head on the pillow.
Thanks again,
Janice, Peter and Bruce, (and Lily and Ollie)
Poem for Pitbulls:
You made me what I am today,
Courage at it’s best.
You wanted me to know no fear,
A cut above the rest.
Not only did I master that,
I’ve thrown in loyalty too.
But past my eyes into my soul,
You know I’d die for you.
I’ll watch your kids,
I’ll watch your house,
Your praise is my crown.
Ask what you will,
I’ll do my best,
I’ll even be your clown.
But some of you don’t like me,
I’m sure I don’t know why.
The only thing I’m guilty of,
Is courage, love and try.
But they still want to see me go,
They want my breed to end.
Will I see you sitting idly by,
You whom I call a friend?
You’ve made me what I am today.
You never saw me waver.
I’ve done my best to keep you safe,
Won’t you please return the favour?

WOW! Troy has grown and he is so beautiful!! He was such a special puppy and had a really great character. I still miss him. I have his picture as my phone screen. He is sitting in my daughter’s Elmo chair. I knew when I met you both that he was getting an amazing forever home. Don’t worry about people’s looks all they have to do is meet Troy to change their perceptions. He could be the doggie spokes person! Thanks for the update and give Troy a big hug for me.
What a beautiful boy, Pittbull in his mix or not. If they all had homes like yours, there wouldn’t be a problem. He’s good with dogs, cats, babies. Thanks you for being such a strong supporter of Animatch and giving homes to a few of our adoptees. Hope Bruce has gotten used to car rides!
