News from Yukon/Angus,
Hello Helen and Animatch friends,
It has taken long for us to give you some news of Yukon (known to you as Angus) we were very busy exploring the new environment and getting to know each other. We adopted Yukon on Sept 5th and we are totally in love!
At first my partner did not want to adopt a dog from Animatch. He was telling me that these dogs are all problem dogs and that is why they are in a rescue shelter. I was disappointed but needed to accept his decision although I was convinced that it was a good cause especially that one of my friends was a volunteer at Animatch and another one of my friend has adopted 2 great dogs from there. So I kept trying to convince him. I was on Animatch web site on a regular basis. During those months my partner and I were discussing the kind of dog we wanted and we were in total disagreement… Everything in our life was so easy, every decision we have to take is easy and we are in complete agreement but about the dog. One day, I went on Animatch and I saw Yukon’s little face… My heart felt! So I showed the dogs available for adoption to my boyfriend and he told me : ok, let’s complete the questionnaire.
He wasn’t in love with Yukon at all. He much preferred another puppy… We were on the good way, at least he did not say no to Animatch this time. So I completed the adoption form and went through the process. We finally got to Animatch to meet with the 3 possible candidates that we could fit with. Yukon was in the end the one who chose us.
Since then we are very happy all together. We have 1km forest behind the house and Yukon loves to run and sniff over there. He is so much fun to see in the forest, we go almost every day just for the fun of watching him. He is happy and in love, we can feel the love in his eyes when he lies down on his bed watching us. We too are in love with him, he does all kinds of cute things to get our heart … as if he would need to conquer our heart ! …
We would like to say big thank to Animatch for helping us meeting the perfect dog for us. Yukon has a very calm nature and is very enthusiastic, he loves the tenderness we give him and he is definitely the best dog for us ever. This was the perfect match!
The pic was taken some days ago in the field in front of our house.

Hi Manon & Bruno: You said it best when you said, ‘’ Yukon was in the end the one who chose us.’’ They know.. we also know…...lol
Thank You for choosing the adoption way, pass it along that when you adopt; you are saving 2 lives…the one that you adopt and the one you made room for. Every furbaby should experience love and security in his/her life.
I am happy that you hung in there and convinced Bruno to adopt ... I guess it was really Yukon who showed him that giving a second chance to a homeless dog is the way to go.
Hi Manon & Bruno, I met you outside of Plaza Pointe-Claire on the morning that you adopted Yukon. I am very happy that he is the right match for your family and I love the photo of him that you sent. I hope you continue to send us updates as I look forward to watching him grow up. You have a very handsome dog!!
Another important issue that you raised and that needs to be shared is that there is nothing wrong with shelter animals. They are not problem dogs. We rarely have problem dogs. Sure we get some that require training but that’s not their fault and they are always eager to learn. They have had some bad luck when their lives were turned upside-down. That’s all. Unfortunately, there are still people out there who think like your partner did. I hope he now spreads the word that adoption IS the option!!
