Moxie
Hello, Moxie here!
I’m taking a bit of time to let you know that I’m very happy in my new home. I can’t stay too long on the computer, because I have to keep an eye on those pesky squirrels. I go for lots of walks and I get to run in a beautiful grassed dog park. For the after supper walk, Nickie the cat comes with us, following a few steps behind. We make a very cute family and neighbours now wait for us to go by and gush at how cute we are (especially me, of course!). Got to go and be on guard. Talk to you later.

Too funny! We adopted Guizmo (Moxie’s brother) and tehy seem to share an affinity for chasing squirrels!
Thank you for writing to us Moxie, it sure sounds like you hit the jackpot !
;O)
What a beautiful back yard you have!
So nice to see a photo of Moxie so relaxed and content (at least until another squirrel crosses her path). Both of our Parti Poodles are very lucky to be enjoying the good life.
Kate, I’m so happy that Wilson (Gizmo) also found a loving new home.
Diane, I think WE hit the jackpot! We just love her.
Christiane, thank you for the comment on the back yard. We do enjoy gardening and are proud of our numerous flower beds on the property. It seems that Moxie appreciates them also, because she goes around them, not through them (most of the time).
Joanne, I didn’t know they were called Parti Poodles. I’ll go look up why they are called that.
I didn’t know it either until a few years ago—apparently Poodles that are two colours are called “parti” poodles. Parti in French meaning part ... so part white, part black. You will find lots of info on web about it. Moxie & Wilson are the first STandard Partis I have seen; we have had one or two miniature parti poodles.
I don’t know if you can see this on Moxie, but since Wilson had part of his leg shaved at the vet, you can. Their skin is multi-colored too! It’s black under the black bits and pink under the white bits.
How very interesting! I wonder how that came to be?? We sure do have special dogs, Kate.
Were you able to figure out if Wilson is French or English speaking? We’re not sure for Moxie. She sits in French and in English, and she comes when she feels like it, no matter the language. We’re working on that, but it would help if we knew what commands she already knows.
He was definitely trained in French first. We’ve been working with him in English since he came home though. For a few days we despaired over it, but then, about 3 days in, it all clicked and he seemed to understand. He sits nearly 100% of the time, comes about 80% (not counting squirrel chasing- that’s hopeless), and goes to his place about 80%. down is like pulling teeth (hates that one)
