Marley, Summer 2011

Hi everyone at Animatch and all who visit the site!
I wanted to share this update on Marley (Animatch’s “Charity”), since she has just taken her first trip to our groomer. We took some time to let her get used to being bathed, brushed, ears cleaned, etc., just so that she wouldn’t be too afraid. Apparently, there was no issue. She’s SUCH a good girl! I’ve recently started giving Marley glucosamine twice a day, as she appears to have some stiffness in her back end - legs or maybe hips, it’s hard to tell exactly. Our vet says it can take up to 6 weeks to see a difference, but that he has a lot of success with this treatment. I guess it’s not a surprise, if she spent so many years producing litters and laying down to feed her babies. We still can’t get over how strong her mothering instinct is. If she hears an animal or even a baby crying, she’ just beside herself, wanting to help. Still very, very much in love with this little treasure.
Best wishes to all and hope you’re enjoying the wonderful summer.

Glucosamine works great for dogs (it works for me too!). Always nice to get updates on Marley—she was a very special dog.
She looks very at home - congrats to you Darlene. They are very special indeed. The mothering effect will last a very very long time - but it makes them so much more special lol..
She looks so nice and comfy, thank you Darlene, we love seeing pictures of our dogs and getting updates.
Have a beautiful summer !
;O)
The glucosamine appears to be a great success! Marley has started to stand up on her back legs lately, to reach up to me to get her treat. If I can just manage to get her weight down a little bit, I think she will be feeling like brand new. Best part is that she actually enjoys taking her pill and comes running for it when I shake the jar.
