Hi from Hunter (Yeller)

Just thought I would drop you all a line to let you know how Hunter made out on his first weekend. He is such a sweetheart. He is getting his confidence little by little and I slowly see his personality come out. He is such a happy dog and loves to give kisses whenever he can. He loves to go for walks on his leash and his tail never stops wagging the whole time. He has mastered the doggie door and will sometimes go out on his own and lay in the sun on the deck. although he doesn’t like to be too far away from any of us.. The other morning after he did his business he actually pranced across the deck when he was going back in the house. There have been no accidents in the house at all. His back legs seem to be getting stronger and although he was a bit hesitant at first going up and down the stairs - he does them now like a pro. He is getting along with Chase although I wouldn’t say they are best buds yet, but I can see it happening once Hunter gets his confidence up. I really get a feeling that at sometime in his life someone was good to him. So his is going really well and is very comfortable now with the house and with us. We all love him and he knows it. Thanks again Animatch. I have posted a pic of him - not the best but there will be more following.

I am so happy that Hunter (Yeller) has finally found a good home where he will be taken care and loved for the rest of his life.
He looks so content. The walks will help him build muscle mass which make him stronger. Keep the new coming.
Hi Yeller’s mom. I was the volunteer that wouldn’t let him go when you came to get him. I watched you leave in the car or van and he already looked like part of your family. I could see the family and then Yeller’s face peeking out from the middle.
I am so very happy for him and your family. Please give him another squeeze for me!! Congratulations and keep the updates coming!!!!
Hi there, I had been following Yeller since the beginning but was away and did not know the outcome. So happy for both of you. I too had adopted my dog and she is a border collie like Chase. She’s been with me for over 8 years and is the best dog ever. She did not have a great start in life but she now has a great life and has given me a lot of joy. With every passing day, Yeller will be more confident and trusting, the bond will be amazing. Take care and wish all 3 of you a happy life.
Thank you first of all for the update, we love hearing from our dogs and their new owners.
Second, thank you for caring for him, we all fell in love with Yeller ‘cause he looked like an old soul that had been through a lot and yet still liked people.
We are so happy you found each other.
;O)
HI there… we had a dog that looked just like Yeller/Hunter. Sadly, we lost him on Labour Day Sunday. When we saw Hunter on the site - we really felt like it might be time to get a new pooch. We really miss Doogie’s presence, and having a new dog would be lovely. Sadly we didn’t move fast enough!
I am so happy to hear that Hunter is in a good home. He looks relaxed and happy - lying there on the deck. I know we’ll get a new friend to join us soon… I hope he’ll be as lovely as Hunter.
Here is a link to a photo album I created on my facebook of pictures of Hunter - his tail never stops wagging.
