Frankie’s new adventure

Frankie (aka Fetch) has been with my husband Michel and I since November 2008 and what a great companion he is. He walks in the morning with Michel and I walk him after work. He’s full of energy. He has passed basic training and intermediate training, 2nd in his class. He loves camping and the outdoors.
However, last March, we brought Frankie for a visit to the vet for what we thought was a minor problem. Frankie had an ear infection but the vet also found that his lymph nodes from the neck and the back legs were too large. Frankie was later diagnosed at DVM with Lymphoma, stage 5. It was quite a shock for us. Frankie is only 2 yr old or so.
After discussing his condition with the oncologist, we decided to give Frankie a chance. We are giving him chemo-therapy and cortico-steroids. After 4 months, he is doing well, although he is not in remission yet. However, he is well enough to bring him along for our summer vacation in August. We are going camping.
Although Frankie might not be with us for as long as we hoped for, he is a fantastic loving companion and we will enjoy the time we have with him, every day!
To Helen and Sherri, you can be sure that Frankie is in good hands. Thank you for bringing him into our lives.

Just a word to let you all know that Frankie lost his battle with lymphoma on Nov 11th. He will be missed and always remembered. He was the finest example of man’s (and woman’s) best friend. I’m just happy to know that all Labs go to heaven.
