Chelsea (formerly Kelli)

Hello from Ontario!
I have been so busy since my people picked me up June 26, my favourite activity is taking my people for walks…sometimes I grab the leash and I think I’m walking myself!! I do always walk nicely once out the door. As for daily work I have to make sure everyone has VERY warm feet and sometimes I insist that payment (in the form of petting) is made for such a luxurious service. I have started my obedience training at Carolark , and my instructor is quite impressed with my ability…although i’m not sure why he is soooo surprised and has to keep saying “oh wow you’re actually a smart Berner…” There are a number of squirrels, deer, chipmunks, and groundhogs around my new home and I just want to go meet them all!!! My people are not too keen about this and so we are working out a new pastime for me instead. Thanks again Animatch for all you did for me and allowing me to pick the family I have!!

I have been waiting for other Berner adoptees to post an update in fanmail. We adopted our Berner (Mac) in February and he sounds so similar to Chelsea!
He is amazing on walks but whenever we stop at the park he thinks it’s his turn to lead and always grabs the leash in his mouth. He is also the world’s biggest pair of slippers, our feet never go cold! He follows me from room to room, never a moment without him by my side.
It’s amazing how smart Berners can be. Mac impresses me every day with his abilities. Mac has 2 different colored eyes so our newest trick that we are working on is to have him turn is head to the right when we say “Blue eye” and to the left when we say “brown eye”.
It’s too bad I don’t live closer to Ontario. A berner play date would have been fun! Glad to see another adopted Berner in a loving family.
I hope you are enjoying the couse at Carolark! I’d love to know because based on my own training there, I’ve been recommending it to adopters in the Ottawa & Kanata areas.
Chelsea has completed the training at Carolark, I highly recommend the training for everyone. If anyone has a chance to use Carolark they should! Thanks for recommending it to us.
