Candy’s 5th Birthday from Barb Thornton

Hi Helen & everyone at Animatch! It’s July 21st & I am 5 years old today. Last month it was Rosie’s birthday—she is my sister & today it’s my turn to celebrate. Mom got me all dressed up to take a picture & she thinks I look so cute. I had a few special treats—-not too many as I have to watch my weight. You see us Labs tend to put on pounds if we aren’t careful.
A special thank-you to Joanne P. for suggesting to Mom that I would be a good match for their family. I love them as much as they love me—maybe more!!

I love doggy birthday pictures! I got my animatch Berner dressed up with a hat and got him a special treat with a “1” candle in it. Is that cake dog friendly? What is it made out of? It looks good!

Thanks for the comment Megan. The cake is not dog friendly. It was just for show for the picture. Compliments from IGA. It is called an orange parfait & it has a plastic cover on it so Candy wouldn’t gobble it down in 2 seconds!!!!!!!! She can be quite the MISS PIGGY!!!

I was looking for a dog friendly cake recipe but instead I ended up going with a pig’s hoof stuffed with holistic soft dog food. He loved it!

I also have a yellow lab, and a chocolate lab, both of which are totally food obsessed. I know what you mean by miss piggy!
